High Falls - Michael Hines, 84, of High Falls and formerly of Bloomington, died Tuesday, June 15, 2021 with his loving family by his side. Michael was born April 3, 1937 in Bronx, NY to William J. Hines and Mary Hines, and he was the oldest of 3 boys. He was a dental technician at Craig Dental Lab in Poughkeepsie, NY until his retirement, and he served in Army National Guard as an artilleryman at the Kingsbridge Armory in Bronx, NY. He enjoyed hunting and fishing in his spare time, and he held multiple roles within the community including serving on the Boards of Directors for Rosendale Library and the Ulster Fire Training Center.  Michael was a 46-year active member of the Bloomington Fire Department where he served in multiple roles including Assistant Fire Chief, Corporation Director, Training Officer and chief fundraiser. He is predeceased by his loving wife Judith, brothers James and William and son Charles. He is survived by children Dawn Poundstone and husband James of Lizette, Georgia, Kevin Hines and girlfriend Robyn Doroski of Fishkill, NY, Kathleen Welch of Cookesville, TN and Amanda Albertson of High Falls, NY. He is also survived by nephew Fred Harries Sr. and 8 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.

Visitation for family and friends will be on Friday June 18 from 5 to 8 PM at the George J. Moylan Funeral Home Inc., 2053 Route 32, Rosendale. Bloomington Fire Department will pay their respects at 7 PM during the visitation. His funeral services will be 10 AM Saturday at the funeral home. Rev. Nickolas Miles will officiate. Interment will follow at the Rosendale Plains Cemetery.
